The Gotten Publishing House, within the framework of the “Reading the Balkans” project, invites you to a literary conversation with Cypriot writer Mehmet Yashin. The conversation will be held on March 26 in the bookstore “Antolog”, starting at 8 pm. The conversation will be led by Vladimir Jankovski.
In March, Mehmet Yashin is a guest of the residential program for writers, which is part of the project “Reading the Balkans”.
Mehmet Yashin is one of the unusual authors of modern literature from Cyprus. His poems, novels and essays are considered to be part of the literature of Cyprus and Greece together with the literature of Turkey. The specifics that he introduces in poetry in Turkish is based on his hybrid literary sources, the combination of Turkish and Greek cultures in the Mediterranean, as well as the use of various historical and geographical elements of the Turkish language.
